Stressed at work struggling to balance home & work
admin Posts 9

Many of us do have a propensity to take on ‘pleaseaholic’ tendencies, wanting to please everyone all of the time and never saying ‘NO’!
Sound familiar?
At home this is great because we want to make sure that everyone is happy, but at work, this can cause problems.
As a Senior Manager I was eager to please, but as the work load built up I started to crack under the pressure. My health was suffering and so was my confidence.
Since then I have developed many stress management strategies that we teach on our courses but we’d like to know how you manage stress so please let us know here edited by admin on 6/30/2008

Not being heard at work or being overlooked?
admin Posts 9

Have you ever been in a meeting and wondered why you weren’t getting heard? Or, have you ever found someone else taking credit for your ideas? Some years ago I discovered a concept called ‘invisibility syndrome’. It happens to the ‘quieter’ people in organisations and it can be really frustrating.
I have developed some very straightforward ways to get heard but would like to know how you do it. Please let us know here. edited by admin on 6/30/2008

How did I deal with an intimidating boss
admin Posts 9

Intimidating and overbearing bosses come along frequently. They can make us feel inferior and keep us awake at night. Everything we do is wrong and we dread going to work. Most are like Jekyll and Hyde -nice one minute, terrible the next. While in the motor industry I encountered many! I’ve also encountered some that you may have heard of before; namely Sir Alan Sugar and then Anne Robinson!!!
I am determined that we help you deal with this type of character.
We at URhired.co.uk are interested to find out what strategies you have used to deal with those difficult people so please let us know here… edited by admin on 6/30/2008

Discuss why below:
Because now that I keep a weekly success journal I not only reflect on present success but also get to feel good about the successes of the past few weeks and months too. If I have a worry bead, I write it down as a question and I usually find that my sub-conscious has been working on it for the week and I get an answer back the next time I look at it. You just can't go wrong if you do this stuff regularly!!!
